SIPPS is a differentiated accelerative foundational skills program that develops the word-recognition strategies and skills that enables older students in grades 4–12 to become fluent and confident readers. The SIPPS program identifies phonics gaps and closes them quickly.
SIPPS restores the confidence of older striving readers and gets them back on track to grade-level reading and success through:
Structured lessons, systematic instructional routines, and immediate corrective feedback
Periodic Mastery Tests that monitor student progress and support the teacher’s decision-making around pacing and reteaching
Program-specific placement assessment that identify instructional entry points and groups students for targeted small-group instruction
Engaging, age-appropriate texts on topics that appeal to the interests of older students
