Event Description

Oakland Community Right to Read Film Screening
Co-hosted by FULCRUM, Families in Action, Oakland East Bay Alliance of Black Educators, and Collaborative Classroom

Join FULCRUM, Families in Action, Oakland East Bay Alliance of Black Educators, and Collaborative Classroom for a screening of The Right to Read documentary, followed by a panel discussion with Kareem Weaver, moderated by Dana Cilono, Director of Education Strategies and Ventures with the Kenneth Rainin Foundation.

During our time together, we hope to cultivate a dynamic and inclusive experience that encourages our community members to deepen their understanding of the educational landscape in the Bay Area and across the state. Come learn alongside Kareem Weaver, parents and educational leaders from the field about the power of structured literacy instruction and the impacts a shift toward the science of reading has had on student outcomes.

All educators, families, community members, and/or literacy advocates are welcome!
