Event Description

The State of Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction in California: A Roundtable Discussion with Leaders from California

Join us for a focused roundtable discussion with local literacy leaders about evidence-based literacy instruction in California. Our goal is to galvanize and inspire attendees invested in literacy for all in California.

This high-level conversation will focus on the following:

  • The state of the state: identifying trends and taking a closer look at the needs across the state
  • Discussing the present-day challenges and the opportunities ahead of us
  • Panelists will share their experiences leading systems-level shifts (DoE, CoEs, districts, grassroots organizations) to align instruction with the science of reading
  • A call to action and recommendations for next steps for colleagues just beginning this work
This webinar is the first of a 3-part virtual series that Collaborative Classroom is hosting to bring different voices together to consider how we move the needle forward on shifting to the science of reading in California. Subsequent sessions in the series will be published during the summer of 2023.
