Get to know Being a Reader, Second Edition, a reading program for K–5 students designed to provide comprehensive reading instruction by systematically developing both foundational skills and comprehension. This research-based program integrates rich literacy experiences with explicit social skills instruction and activities that foster students’ growth as responsible, caring, and collaborative people.

Facilitated by Linda Rourke and Kim Still

Linda Rourke is Director of Program Marketing for Collaborative Classroom. She and her team work in partnership with school and district leaders as they review, plan, launch, and implement Collaborative Literacy. Linda offers leadership and program support through presentations, keynotes, workshops, institutes, and other professional learning experiences. A former English teacher, Linda holds a BA in English and an MSEd in Literacy Education from Northern Illinois University.

Kim Still is Director of Sales Enablement for Collaborative Classroom. She has 15 years of teaching, coaching, and speaking experience in the areas of literacy, teaching diverse learners, social-emotional learning, and classroom management. Kim has trained and taught as a Reading Recovery teacher. She has a BA in Child Study from St. Joseph’s College and an MEd in Education, specializing in Literacy and Language Learning, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
