Event Description

What Literacy Leaders Need to Know: Supporting a Shift to Evidence-Based Reading Instruction

School and district leaders play a critical role in shifting instructional practice in their schools. Their roles are more important than ever as schools respond to the urgent need to address literacy gaps and support teachers who need clarity about how to deliver evidence-based and meaningful instruction.

During this in-person institute, leaders will evaluate the importance of high-quality curricula in supporting teachers and students and will develop coaching skills to support effective instruction. They will leave with practical leadership strategies to effectively and efficiently shift teacher practice, anticipate challenges, and identify quick wins in order to accelerate student learning. We encourage participants to come with a team of 2–3 other literacy leaders.

Intended Audience: Literacy leaders at school or district levels
