Event Description

Collaborative Literacy in Michigan: A New Standard for K–5 Success

Reading, writing, and communication are essential building blocks for critical thinking, problem solving, and life readiness. Michigan leaders continue to work together to provide guidance on comprehensive programs and professional learning that aligns with the science of reading.

As one of only four state-approved comprehensive programs, Collaborative Literacy offers a proven pathway to student success. This 45-minute high-level overview will provide districts and schools the information they need to help them learn more about the program and help them make an informed decision about what will work best for their students.

Most ELA programs focus on what to teach. Collaborative Literacy is designed to strengthen how literacy is taught—every day, in every classroom.

In this webinar, you’ll learn exactly how Collaborative Literacy:

  • Develops confident, independent readers and writers through daily, purposeful instruction—not isolated activities
  • Enables precise, differentiated instruction grounded in what students actually need to master foundational skills
  • Builds durable knowledge across content areas through a coherent, year-long design
  • Engages students with authentic, high-quality texts that invite thinking, discussion, and meaning-making
  • Supports English learners’ accelerated literacy growth through integrated language development and knowledge-rich instruction
  • Aligns with the science of reading while integrating proven, evidence-based practices across the full literacy block
  • Applies intentional instructional design to support strong teaching decisions before, during, and after lessons
  • Provides deliberate, meaningful practice that reinforces learning and supports transfer
  • Extends instruction with CC PAL, our curriculum-aligned app for independent retrieval practice
  • Builds educator expertise over time through embedded professional learning and AI-powered implementation support

Whether you’re evaluating a new core ELA curriculum or looking to elevate district wide literacy instruction, this webinar offers a clear, efficient introduction to Collaborative Classroom’s approach to strong teaching, coherent implementation, and lasting impact.
