AM Session: Supporting New & Striving Readers with Small-Group, Mastery-Based Intervention (K–5)
Students who struggle with reading need immediate and effective support to address foundational skill gaps. This interactive institute focuses on providing differentiated, research-based instruction to help students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Grounded in professional journal articles and current studies, this session bridges research to practice. Participants will experience effective instructional routines from the SIPPS program and explore how structured literacy lessons can accelerate learning. Additionally, we’ll examine the essential characteristics of connected texts that engage struggling readers and provide meaningful practice for skill mastery.

PM SESSION: Developing High-Quality Relationships in Early Childhood Education: Building Early Literacy, Executive Function, & Social Skills (Pre-K/TK)
We know that positive connections between children and adults are the foundation for child growth and development. By focusing on high-quality relationships as the basis for learning, we can ensure children develop the early literacy, executive functioning, and social skills they need to thrive in elementary school and beyond.
This hands-on institute is designed to support educators, caregivers, and program leaders who are passionate about early childhood development. It provides them with the tools and confidence to have intentional, high-quality interactions with children and cultivate safe, inclusive, and ideal early learning environments.
The institute is rooted in embedding the five SEEDS elements through engaging literacy activities:
Participants will leave the institute equipped with practical, research-based strategies to enhance their interactions and improve daily practice.

Time: AM session: 8:30am–12:30pm (coffee, tea, and lunch provided). PM session: 3:30–6:30pm (heavy appetizers & drinks provided)

Fee: Complimentary! No-cost sessions for CA educators from Collaborative Classroom, a non-profit.
Parking: Collaborative Classroom will cover the parking. More information will be sent few days before the event.
Requirements: Pre-registration required; teams welcome!
Certificates: Attendees receive a certification of completion for 3 hours of professional learning for each session completed.
