Event Description

Collaborative Literacy in Action Observation Day

Bolles School and Collaborative Classroom have partnered to transform teaching and learning by focusing on high-quality literacy instruction that fully integrates social development with academics. We invite K–6 administrators, district leaders, instructional coaches, and teachers to:

  • Visit classrooms to observe learning in action
  • Hear from a panel of students about their experiences in a Collaborative Classroom
  • Hear from a teacher panel about their experiences as facilitators and the professional shifts they have made
  • Hear from school leaders about their approach to change and what they have learned along this journey
This observation day is designed to support K–6 administrators, literacy leaders, and teachers who are working to ensure that all students thrive academically and socially. Registrants are encouraged to bring a guest from their school.

Time: *8:00 AM–12:00 PM (Breakfast provided)
Location: Bolles School, Whitehurst Campus, 7400 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32217
Cost: Complimentary, but you must register in advance.

Schedule

8:00-8:30: Check-In and breakfast
*Arrival before 8am will be during car line-AVOID*.
8:30–8:50 AM: Introduction to Bolles School
8:50–9:15 AM: Overview of Collaborative Literacy
9:15–11:00 AM: Classroom visits
11–11:45 AM: Observation debrief, Teacher and Student Panel, Q&A
