Being a Reader Small Group in Action Observation Day

Join Pierson Elementary, Volusia County Schools, and Collaborative Classroom for a professional learning day dedicated to: 
 

  • Observing differentiated small group instruction (Being a Reader Small Group Reading)

  • Discussing the impact of targeted instruction on student data

  • Considering the importance of collaboration and professional development on implementation of these programs

Collegial conversations and lesson experiences will allow participants to consider:
 

  • What structures and systems need to be in place to successfully implement the research-based instruction?

  • How does aligned instruction across tiers ensure that all learners develop automatic, independent word recognition skills and strategies? 

  • How do we intensify instruction when students have difficulties?
