Event Description

A Conversation for Leaders with Pati Montgomery
Join us for a discussion about leadership's role in systems of literacy and the science of reading.

Learn about Pati's new book coming out in November 2024:
It's Possible! A Leadership Plan for Implementing Quality Reading Instruction and Ensuring Literacy for All

Applying the findings from the science of reading as well as the research on school leadership and highly effective schools, Pati Montgomery and Angie Hanlin guide principals and leaders in building the systems and structures needed to ensure quality literacy instruction. Principals and leaders can implement the science of reading, support teachers, and increase literacy proficiency for all.

This webinar is intended for principals, school administrators, and district leaders.

Pati Montgomery is the founder of Schools Cubed, a school consulting firm that specializes in collaborating with school and district leadership to increase reading outcomes, and therefore educational outcomes, for all students.

Ms. Montgomery has held roles as a classroom teacher, elementary and middle school principal, district leader, and executive director of literacy for the state of Colorado, where she led the implementation of one of the first pieces of evidence-based literacy legislation in the country.

Ms. Montgomery has been recognized by the IDA, ARC, and ExcelEd for her outstanding leadership in the area of literacy. She is a national speaker in the area of leadership and literacy, specifically on the systems and structures that should be implemented in schools to increase literacy outcomes for students. She serves as an expert and advisor on several literacy panels for states and school districts. Pati was the lead author for the book A Principal’s Primer for Raising Reading Achievement, a LETRS module for administrators.

She received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Arts in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Specialized Certificate in Administration from the University of Denver.
