Event Description

Deepening Our SIPPS Practice 

In this full day in-depth SIPPS institute, Ann Leon, student and colleague of SIPPS lead author Dr. John Shefelbine and Educational Consultant from CORE Learning, will provide a deeper dive into these focus areas:
 

Fluency Practice
  • Reading the Story/Selection
    • In the Beginning, Extension, and Plus levels, we will explore how the routines are similar and yet different, as the students progress in their learning. 
  • Dig into the meaning of "fluency" as defined as accuracy, automaticity, and prosody; and how it is practiced during SIPPS Fluency Practice.
Data Analysis
  • Using the Mastery Test and Progress Assessment Data and the SIPPS Teacher's Manual, we learn to make intentional instructional decisions for your students.
  • Please bring recent data to explore this process.

This training day is brought to you through a collaboration of CORE Learning and Collaborative Classroom.

Note: Having a SIPPS TE at the training is always beneficial!

Schedule 

8:30–9:00 AM: Sign-in and Continental Breakfast/Coffee
9:00–11:45 AM: Morning Training
11:45 AM–12:30 PM: Lunch provided
12:30–3 PM: Afternoon Training

  • Registration Fee: $99 per person

  • ​Payment Options: Purchase order (Invoice), e-check, or credit card. Teams and groups welcome. 

  • Registration Deadlines: Monday, September 9, 2024

  • Refund/Transfer Policy: No refunds are allowed. Please email events@collaborativeclassroom.org to request a transfer. Registering for this event by invoice constitutes a promise to pay, please don't register unless you plan to attend.  

  • Recordings: No recordings. This session is live and in-person. 

  • Meals/Drinks: Light breakfast and lunch provided. 

  • Registration Method: Online only. This event is for educators from California or Nevada only. 

  • Attendance Certificates: A certificate of professional learning for 6 clock hours will be provided via email within 30 days after the event. In order to receive a certificate, you must sign the official sign-in sheet at the end of the day.
