11/3/2022
4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Eastern

Event Description

Evaluating the Impact of the SIPPS Program at Pasco County Schools

During this webinar district leaders from Pasco County Schools will discuss their implementation journey with the SIPPS® (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words) program. These leaders will share how SIPPS transformed the effectiveness of their instruction and gave them the tools they needed to accelerate reading achievement. Dr. Marisa Ramirez Stukey, Senior Director of Research and Engagement at Collaborative Classroom, will also share a summary of the data and conclusions from the recent research conducted at the district.

Pasco is the 10th largest school district in Florida. In 2021 Pasco implemented the SIPPS program and took part in a research study that evaluated reading growth in elementary-level students identified as needing additional reading intervention in word recognition and fluency. The outcomes of this study documented significant gains in acceleration, with students who received SIPPS instruction scoring higher on the DIBELS
® assessment. This research qualified SIPPS for a Moderate ESSA rating.
